Are you interested in shaping the future of EU agricultural research and innovation? Take part in the conference organised by the European Commission, which will take place on January 26-28 in Brussels, in the presence of Commissioners Phil Hogan and Carlos Moedas.

After almost two years of preparations, agricultural institutions from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia successfully founded the South Eastern Europe Advisory Service Network (SEASN). SEASN Founding Assembly took place in Bulgarian capital city Sofia at 22nd October 2015. Tom Kelly, President of the EUFRAS and Ulrich Ryser, President of the IALB marked special significance to the Founding Assembly with their attending and presented very acutal theme: „Key challenges for European agricultural advisory services and the importance of advisory services cooperation“.

Lugo Campus of the University of Santiago de Compostela is looking forward to welcoming professionals working on rural development to the 1st International Workshop on Rural Extension - Training of Rural Advisors which will take place from the 19th till 20th of October, 2015 in Campus of Lugo, University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain. 

The Conference will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria on 23rd of October, 2015 and is organized by Initiative Committee for setting up the „South East European Advisory Service Network – ASN-SEE“. The Conference is hosted by Bulgarian National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS). Working languages will be English and Bulgarian.

From the 14th till 18th of June, 2015 EUFRAS held its 3rd Meeting in Solothurn, Switzerland within the 54th IALB Conference Efficiency in the Agri-Food Sector: Reality and Appearance in Farming and Advisory Services. The focus of the EUFRAS Meeting relied on strategic approaches. Strategic conduct is important in different settings. In the first part of the meeting, two best practice examples were presented. The second part of the EUFRAS Meeting was dedicated to discussions about EUFRAS strategies.

EUFRAS network is engaged in two of Horizon2020 projects - Ok-Net Arable and Fertinnowa. 


EUFRAS is taking a coordinating role in rural advisor qualification and certification in Europe by joining the IALB competence development standard CECRA (Certificate for European Consultants in Rural Areas). On the 15th of June within the 54th IALB Conference and 3rd EUFRAS Meeting in Solothurn, Switzerland EUFRAS Chairman of the Board Tom Kelly and IALB President Edda Albers signed the Cooperation and Usage Agreement on CECRA between IALB and EUFRAS, that constitutes the basis of the involvement of EUFRAS in CECRA. 

A good number of EUFRAS member organizations already pronounced interest to become CECRA partner (Regional Certification Body) and/or CECRA Module Provider, being partner in the pending Erasmus+ application “Upscaling CECRA” or having actively participated in the CECRA-Workshop in April 2015 in Landshut. It is also planned to deliver fast track training the trainer event for very experienced trainers within EUFRAS membership who are keen to start the training process.

The Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre, LRATC offered to host the EUFRAS CECRA Office.
