2nd Annual SEASN Assembly and 4th Regional Conference of Advisory Service of South East Europe will take place in Lasko, Slovenia on 21st November 2017 within Annual Seminar of Kmetijsko Gozdarska Zbornica Slovenije (KGZS). More information will follow!

The topic of the conference was summarized with the title “New Challenges in Rural Areas – Tradition and Transforming Agriculture”, which was examined by giving an overview of the Hungarian situation, and also that of international scale – staging professional lectures, interactive workshops, and study tours with various topics, organized to agricultural and food industry businesses combining tradition and innovation in the countryside.

In order to enhance the cooperation between European forum for rural advisory services and African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services on 21st of June the memorandum of agreement between both networks was signed within the 56th IALB and 6th EUFRAS conference in Münster.

At the end of April two advisors from EUFRAS network - Romana Holle from Germany and Jānis Kažotnieks from Latvia, participated at the workshop on organic no-till farming, regenerative agriculture and on-farm research and innovation in Absdorf, Austria, supported by the OK-Net Arable project.

The 8th GFRAS Annual Meeting will take place from 10th till 13th of September, 2017 on the theme of “Rural Advisory Services and Empowered Youth for Balanced Transformation in Rural and Urban Communities”. The meeting will be held backto-back with the Australasia-Pacific Extension Network (APEN) International Conference to be held on 13th till 15th of September. Side events will be organised on 8th and 9th of September 2017.


EUFRAS network is engaged in two of Horizon2020 projects - Ok-Net Arable and Fertinnowa. 

EUFRAS is taking a coordinating role in rural advisor qualification and certification in Europe by joining the IALB competence development standard CECRA (Certificate for European Consultants in Rural Areas). On the 15th of June within the 54th IALB Conference and 3rd EUFRAS Meeting in Solothurn, Switzerland EUFRAS Chairman of the Board Tom Kelly and IALB President Edda Albers signed the Cooperation and Usage Agreement on CECRA between IALB and EUFRAS, that constitutes the basis of the involvement of EUFRAS in CECRA. 

A good number of EUFRAS member organizations already pronounced interest to become CECRA partner (Regional Certification Body) and/or CECRA Module Provider, being partner in the pending Erasmus+ application “Upscaling CECRA” or having actively participated in the CECRA-Workshop in April 2015 in Landshut. It is also planned to deliver fast track training the trainer event for very experienced trainers within EUFRAS membership who are keen to start the training process.

The Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre, LRATC offered to host the EUFRAS CECRA Office.
