On the 16th of January within International Green Week Berlin also EUFRAS conference “Development of agricultural sector in front of the challenges: Innovation promotion and networking role in these processes” was organized together with Latvian Rural Advisory and Training Centre in Berlin, Germany.
The purposeof the conference was to share actualities within the challenges which agriculture and rural advisory and extension services face today and provide information how agricultural knowledge and innovations can be used to deal with these challenges. Another aim of the conference was to inform about different international networking possibilities and promote cooperation within Advisory services from all over Europe.

The conference started with the presentation from FAO Extension Systems OfficerMagdalena Blum, who presented global agricultural challenges and challenges faced by extension and advisory services. IALB representative Jürgen Käßer presented Training Modules and Certification for advisors with the CECRA standard. Today CECRA education standard is used only in German-speaking countries. Several events were announced within the conference. Director od AGRIDEA Ulrich Ryser announced the 54th IALB days and EUFRAS conference in Switzerland which will be held from 14th till 17th of June 2015 in Solothurn. Daniel Roduner, representative of GFRAS and AGRIDEA announced the annual GFRAS meeting in Kyrgyzstan 2015. LRATC representative Edgars Linde announced two events which will be held within Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union - international conferences Rural and Agricultural Advisory Systems (RAAS): Best Practices and Experiences. Cooperation with the Eastern Partnership Countries and Rural and Agricultural Advisory Systems: examples of good governance for sustainable development.
